"PROTECTION"
This was my second tattoo, and I also got it in New York. A friend of mine went to Peru and brought back this cool necklace for me and that's what I got tatted. It's an Incan symbol, and if my memory serves right, it represents the moon and the stars. But most importantly, and the reason why I got it, it represents protection.
"THE SPACE BETWEEN" "The tears we cry is the
laughter that keeps us coming back for more." This is a lyric from my favorite band, Dave
Matthews Band, from the song "The Space Between." I love this line because it's deep, and I interpret it as a "love is pain, pain is love" kind of thing. As much as it hurts, we continue to go back for more.
"FAIRY TALE"
The direct translation is "story like," as that was the closest thing I could get to "fairy tale." I chose Arabic because it's different, and I didn't want the Japanese writing that everyone else has. And trust me, I did my research before I got it so it really does say that. (laughs) A friend of mine majored in Linguistics with an emphasis in Arabic, so she asked her professor for me. And as much as I travel, I've run into a few people who can read it, so I know it's legit. (laughs) With that said, I simply want the fairy tale. You know, to live happily ever after.
