that. I don't think I'm gonna be that great, probably like 60-something. 68, maybe. I really just want to be like a 75 or 76. Some- thing I can build on.
Dime: You're definitely known as a defender. How much pride do you get out of shutting
your man down? CS: I take a lot of pride in it. I hate los- ing. Every time you step on the court, the person you're matched up against, that's a one-on-one battle. You always want to be on top at the end of the day when you're comparing stats and all that.
Dime: What's on your iPod for pre-game? CS: I'm from Georgia, so a little Jeezy, Gu-
cci, Yo Gotti, a little Waka Flocka, a little Rick Ross. "Start It Up," that's a good song to get pumped to, 'cause it's talking about getting ready.
Dime: What's the first thing you're buying with Q&A;
your NBA money? CS: I'm gonna get my mom a house in Georgia, then a car – probably a Tahoe or Escalade – and a place to stay in Washing- ton. That's all I really need. Down the line, there could be a lot of things that could come my way. But with all the statistics about NBA players losing their money, I'm dedicated to putting half my money away. Right now, the pay grade is $1.5 million a year, and after taxes you're making like $850,000. I feel like I can live off $100,000 a year – like just cash, and the rest goes in the bank. And then I got the shoe deal, and all that. There are a lot of opportunities. If I can really make some money, I'm gonna jump on it.

When you grow up, the NBA is your dream and I always watched the draft. Just to be able to go up on that stage, [David] Stern calls your name, 'With the 18th pick, the Washington Wizards select Chris Single- ton.' That was a dream come true. I prob- ably didn't show it but I was extremely happy. I'm truly blessed.
Dime: What was the weirdest question you got
from an NBA GM or coach? CS: Someone asked, 'What's one plus one.'
Seriously. Questions like that, I have no idea what they're looking for, but I answered. (laughs) I think Utah asked that one.
Dime: How cool will it be to see your jersey and
Dime: Are you worried at all about how they'll rate you? CS: With what analysts have been saying about me, they're probably gonna look at

fun team to be on. Were you guys big on pranks? CS: Yeah. We did a lot of stuff. We were like a family at Florida State. Everybody laughing, we were like brothers. Somebody on the team would always move someone else's phone. And then some person would be mad for like 30 minutes. They'd be look- ing for their phone, but it'd be right in their face. Then Coach [Leonard] Hamilton, it's hilarious, he imitates everybody. It's just funny. Just 'cause he's older and then the assistant coaches get in on it. Everybody's just having a good time.
Dime: Last question. It's the fourth quarter against your division rival the Miami Heat. Are you asking Coach Saunders if you can
guard LeBron? CS: Yeah. I'm gonna say to him, 'Coach, let me guard him.' Something like that. I mean, I want to be on the court, guarding him, [Chris] Bosh, or whoever they put me on.
